CNC SETUP SPECIALIST
Qualifications:
- Setup, tram, and operate vertical milling and high-speed milling machines.
- Perform initial tool offsets and check for tool runout.
- Perform close tolerance milling operations as required.
- Verify conformance of machined workpieces.
- Drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime, reduce setup time, improve quality, and improve cycle time.
- 1 year of setup experience is required.
- 2 years of CNC milling machine experience is required.
LEAD JOURNEYMAN
Qualifications:
- Experienced people leader who supervises and coaches die cast die and injection mold makers.
- Has a journeyman’s card.
- Plans projects to meet quality and delivery timing.
- Leads projects.
- Has strong problem-solving skills.
- Understands the tool building process along with before & after HT machining requirements.
- Able to open 3D models & measure.
- Able to tool path for small components on projects.
- Proficient on CNC machines.
- Able to work from blueprints/sketches to create/modify prototypes, tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and molds.
- Able to calculate the dimensions & tolerances is required to set up machine tools.
- Familiar with the operation of lathes, grinders, milling, and boring machines to produce tools.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience.
MACHINIST
Qualifications:
- Able to setup, program, and operate Vertical Milling Machines.
- Able to setup and operate manual mills, CNC mills, lathes, and surface grinders.
- Able to perform close tolerance milling, turning, and grinding operations as required.
- Able to verify conformance of machined workpieces.
- Able to read blueprints, use micrometers and indicators.
- CAM systems and g-code programming is preferred, but not required.
- Tool making experience is preferred, but not required.
- Able to drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime, reduce setup time, improve quality, and improve cycle time.
- Must have strong communication skills
- Must be self-motivated with strong analytical skills.
- High School diploma is required
- 2 years of operation experience, and 1 year of setup is required.
MOLD MAKER APPRENTICE
Qualifications:
- Mechanically oriented; likes hands-on projects.
- Learns to read blueprints/sketches to create/modify prototypes, tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and molds.
- Learns to calculate dimensions & tolerances and is required to set up machine tools.
- Learns to operate lathes, grinders, milling, and boring machines to produce tools.
- Learns the tool building process to include before/after HT machining requirements.
- HS diploma is required, and enrolls in the first available apprenticeship program at a community college combined with on-the-job training.
- Requires consistent oversight and coaching.
- Typical education and experience process is 4–7-years.
DIE REPAIRMAN
Qualifications:
- Mechanically oriented; likes hands-on projects.
- Proficient at disassembling, cleaning, reassembling, and plumbing of tools efficiently & safely. Works independently and reliably.
- Follows Project Manager’s direction and provides regular and ongoing project updates.
- Coaches apprentices to help them quickly reach proficiency.
- Journeyman’s card is preferred, but not required.
- 3-5 years of experience.
